Why did you choose your career path?
Multiple factors led me to choose my career path. I have always had an entrepreneurial influence in my life as my father started his own business. I continue to look to learn and grow every day because of this. I enjoy being creative and extremely organized. Learning big business strategies with Proctor & Gamble was very enlightening but I found myself wanting to make a more significant impact. My former CEO, Larry Benz, was starting a new company, PT Development, and asked me to join the new venture as its third employee. My instinct told me the opportunity for career growth would be outstanding. I knew the need for physical therapy was growing due to an aging and active population and the role that physical activity plays in disease prevention, opioid avoidance, and maintaining healthy lifestyle.
The work was a great fit. Many of my colleagues recognized my talent for working in teams, finding solutions on the fly, and staying organized with all complexities that exist in the healthcare space. The success of PT Development, which morphed into Confluent Health, created the need for someone to direct the integration process which naturally aligned with several of my strengths.
