John Waite

John Waite, PT, DPT, OCS Co-Owner, All Star Physical Therapy

Dr. Waite is a physical therapist with over 33 years of experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with an option in physical therapy from California State University Northridge. He also holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Loma Linda University and received his Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 1999. Dr. Waite specializes in hand rehabilitation and has published a book on physical therapy management of wrist and hand disorders.

Dr. Waite has extensive experience in the physical therapy industry, having served as Chief Operations Officer of OptimisCorp, a large physical therapy clinical services and software development company with 58 offices across the US. He was also instrumental in guiding clinical feedback for the development of a physical therapy-specific software as a service (SaaS) evidenced-based software solution. Dr. Waite founded a certified residency program in orthopedics through the APTA, training therapists to be experts in orthopedic care. He has also been active in lobbying for physical therapy direct access and reimbursement policy.

Dr. Waite is an expert in sports medicine and orthopedic physical therapy, having provided rehabilitation to athletes across the sports spectrum, including MLB, the NFL, and professional cycling. He has received national recognition as on-air talent for ESPN as an expert on injury prevention and sports training, appearing in the acclaimed TV reality series Rise Up.

Dr. Waite is committed to his community and has provided on-the-field sports medical coverage for local schools, including Temecula Valley High School, Vista Murrieta High School, and Linfield High School, for over 30 years. In 2011 he was inducted into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame, in recognition of his efforts in giving back to the athletic community. In 2015 Loma Linda University recognized him with their distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award for his years of work on clinical educational development and for helping to train many of the physical therapists who provide care for our local communities today. Currently, he is a partner for All Star Physical Therapy in Murrieta, Ca.
