Texas Physical Therapy Specialists’ Georgetown Clinic Now Offering Functional Capacity Evaluations
Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS) is pleased to announce the addition of a new service, Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE), from their Georgetown location at 204 South I-35 in Suite 203.
The comprehensive FCE program will incorporate a combination of full musculoskeletal screening and functional job testing to evaluate workers within Workers’ Compensation systems and determine their ability to function in an objective manner. The program is geared towards employers who want more data to assist in determining an employee’s return to work ability, as well as their “sincerity of effort” during treatment.
“We are thrilled to be offering Functional Capacity Evaluations to the Workers’ Compensation population in Texas,” said Mike McTague, PT, DPT, OCS, TexPTS FCE Specialist. “The goal of this program is to keep employees at work from hire to retire in a healthy and productive environment, and I look forward to seeing how our clients benefit from the concrete data the FCE provides.”
Dr. McTague started his career near his hometown in northern New Jersey, where he developed his first Industrial Rehabilitation program providing FCEs. His next opportunity was a position as a staff physical therapist at the prestigious Kerlan and Jobe Medical complex in Los Angeles. While there, Dr. McTague was assigned the role of Industrial Rehab Coordinator of the entire state of California and focused on the development and implementation of a patient management audit designed to improve clinical documentation and case management of the Workers’ Compensation patient. Before joining TexPTS, he lived in San Fransisco and served as the Director of Physical Therapy for Google Inc.
