Confluent Health Taps Digital Healthcare Trailblazer as New CEO
Founder Dr. Larry Benz Transitions to Executive Chairman
LOUISVILLE, KY (9:00AM EST, July 6th, 2023) – Confluent Health, a national leader in healthcare innovation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kristi Henderson, DNP, FAAN as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective June 7th, 2023. Confluent Health’s Founder and CEO, Dr. Larry Benz, PT, DPT, OCS, MBA, MAPP, FAPTA, will take on an expanded position as full time Executive Director on the Board of Directors.
With over 25 years of progressive leadership in healthcare, Dr. Henderson has led digitally enabled care delivery organizations at two Fortune 5 companies, a national non-profit health system, and an academic medical center. Over the years, she has refined her approach using techniques of Reverse Innovation to get buy-in, move fast and drive measurable improvements. She is renowned for her ability to execute a modern approach to healthcare delivery at scale in complex and geographically dispersed organizations while maintaining a focus on the patient and clinician’s experience.
Before joining Confluent Health, Dr. Henderson was the CEO of Optum Everycare and the Senior Vice President of Center for Digital Health & Innovation at Optum, a division of United Health Group. She previously led clinical operations for Amazon Care, and served as Ascension Health’s SVP for patient access, virtual care, and care coordination. Dr. Henderson continues to serve as the Board Chair for the American Telemedicine Association.

Dr. Henderson will steer Confluent Health’s strategic direction, oversee day-to-day outpatient and clinical operations, and drive continued growth and expansion.
Dr. Benz, who founded Confluent Health in 2014 and has served as CEO since its inception, will transition to the position of Chairman of the Board
